DJ, Producer, and Label Manager @dreamschemesaudio. I grew up on a healthy dose of warp/rephlex/planet-mu roster artists, with my early tastes in electronic music being varied but based largely in dreamy ambient electronica, breakcore, and other idm-esk styles. I got into dj-ing (and through that d&b and jungle) in 2008 when I spent a night watching a couple mates try to work out how to use their first pair of vinyl decks. I didn't have a go that night but I remember spending the whole time thinking "this is the coolest thing ever, the second I get paid next week I'm getting some decks". After that, for years and years I pretty much spent all my free time on the decks. I would get up in the morning and have a quick mix before work, listen to mixtapes at work all day, get home and mix, go round my mates for a social mix - they were great times. I later got into production, which in some ways I regret as I feel it took something away from the dj-ing and just enjoying music without thinking about how the producer made this sound, or what fx they used on that sound, or how they do this or that. But anyways I continue to produce to this day, I have never put any music out, or really even showed it to many people as it has always felt really personal and I haven't felt it is ready, but I'm hoping to change that and start rolling out some of my own music over the next couple years. Kinda started telling my life story lol, but yeah, I got back into dj-ing big time a few years ago now when my friend came back to the UK after some time away travelling and got some decks setup. It was around the time the jungle resurgence was really moving and I just refound that love for it all, think having someone to mix with was key to that so big ups to the Lodgeson. I found infrared.fm and started playing shows a couple years back, and around the same time started the Dream Schemes Audio label - putting out chill dreamy dnb and jungle, it has been a cool couple years, community building and trying new things, I'm hyped to keep it moving and see where we go from here!
